NET(net) announced today that Oscar Garcia Velasco has joined the company as President of Emerging Markets.

In this new position, Mr. Velasco is responsible for developing and expanding NET(net)’s services and market leadership in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. Mr. Velasco will focus on growing and nurturing executive level relationships with NET(net)'s clients and stakeholders in these emerging markets.

Mr. Velasco has worked extensively in the IT Industry for more than 20 years and led several top tier world-class technology firms around the globe. He has a proven history of exceptional leadership in large IT organizations, such as IBM, SSA and Torex throughout Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Japan. This worldwide experience has given Mr. Velasco a multi-cultural business appreciation and in-depth expertise in information technology applications across partners in the markets he serves.

Mr. Velasco has a finance background and holds a Doctorate on Economic Science from UBA – Argentina and a MBA degree from USP – Brazil. His academic degrees, professional achievements and international living experience bring a unique skill set to NET(net) in a time of rapid international expansion.

Mr. Velasco is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English, and he resides in Singapore, where he has been living since 2004 with his wife and two children.
